Purchased in 1990, these instruments have been my personal set of timpani. I used these instruments with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and with the National Symphony Orchestra. When the NSO recently took delivery of a new set of Light timpani I decided that my set of instruments were no longer needed.

Sound files of these timpani can be heard on recordings of both orchestras through Tower's website. Click HERE for the award-winning Florida Philharmonic/Mahler 1 CD and HERE for the National Symphony Orchestra's recording of Michael Kamen's "The New Moon in the Old Moon's Arms."

The instruments sound great. There is some "weathering" on a few of the chrome-plated tension rods and master tuning rods. Replacement rods can be ordered from Marshall Light at a reasonable cost. This weathering is due to my 6 years down in Florida - our rehearsal hall was close to the ocean. Everything else is in mint condition -

Due to programming here at the NSO, these instruments will be available AFTER September 13, 2003.
